Tigers vs Goats - Traditional Bagchal Game

The classic strategy board game of four tigers and twenty goats, for Windows 10 and 11. Play the computer at five levels, or a friend on one PC or online.

Bagchal is a traditional two-player strategy game. Four tigers hunt twenty goats across a board of 25 points: the tigers try to capture five goats, and the goats try to trap every tiger so it has nowhere left to move. It takes a minute to learn and much longer to master.

The Rules in Short

  1. The four tigers start on the corners. The goats start off the board, and the goats move first.
  2. Each turn, the goats bring one new goat onto any empty point, until all twenty are in. After that, they move one goat along a line to a neighboring empty point.
  3. A tiger moves the same way, or jumps over a goat next to it, in a straight line, to the empty point beyond. The goat it jumps is captured.
  4. The tigers win by capturing five goats. The goats win by trapping all four tigers so none of them can move.
